Admin Starter for Owners and Editors

Who This Is For

This guide is for the people actively running the Opero admin workspace.

  • Owners: full system authority, setup access, user management, upgrades, and destructive utilities.
  • Editors: edit-enabled User accounts responsible for content operations such as work records, exhibitions, writing, and media.

If you only need read-only access, use the main User Guide instead.

First Five Stops In Admin

  1. Work Overview: confirm series, works, and media totals look correct.
  2. Works or Series: update records, attach media, and keep ordering clean.
  3. Exhibitions: maintain show history and linked work snapshots.
  4. Media: add press, reviews, catalogs, and other coverage entries.
  5. Admin Documentation: keep setup, system, and workflow docs close at hand.

Daily Workflow

Use the admin like a control room, not a file browser.

  1. Start in the list views.
  2. Open add or edit popups only when you need to change a record.
  3. Save the record, then return to the list to verify order, naming, and filtering.
  4. Use filters to isolate one series or one group of related entries before making batch changes.

Content Areas

Series and Works

  • Keep series titles stable once public URLs depend on them.
  • Use the series filter in Works to focus on one body of work.
  • Save a new work before uploading images or models.

Exhibitions

  • Link works directly when the show needs a fixed historical snapshot.
  • Link series when you want to capture all current works from that series.
  • Only use series sync for current or upcoming exhibitions.

Media

  • Treat each article, review, interview, or catalog as a distinct record.
  • Link media to both works and exhibitions when the coverage spans both.

Owners Only

Owners should review these areas regularly:

  • Admin Users and Roles: verify access is still appropriate.
  • Admin System: check configuration, filesystem, database, and environment health.
  • Upgrades: review phase status and dry-run before rollout.
  • Installer and reset tools: use only with a clear recovery plan.

Editorial Guardrails

  • Prefer clear titles over clever internal shorthand.
  • Keep slugs predictable and stable.
  • Do not use placeholder text in public-facing records.
  • Verify linked works, series, and media before closing the popup.
